If we lined up all the papers detailing what good diet and nutrition are from end-to-end, we could probably stretch the papers around the earth a few times. It’s an immense topic, with a lot to still be learned.
We know artificial flavors aren’t good for our bodies. Neither is sugar, dairy, wheat, or hormones in the meat supply.
There has been lots of evidence come out lately supporting a diet that’s high in fat, like avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, etc.
All this new research plays an incredibly important role in more people having a healthy body and having a better quality of life. One facet that underlies all this research and doesn’t get the notoriety it clearly deserves is the nervous system.
The nervous system runs everything in the body. It is the master controller.
It determines what foods will be broken down and used as tissues and cells, what nutrients will go to building hormones and enzymes, and what needs to be discarded because it serves no purpose, or has already been used.
Without the nervous system functioning correctly, there’s no way our body can digest and break down foods properly. It won’t be able to assimilate the nutrients and use them in any productive way.
If the nervous system wasn’t working, our food would just sit in our bodies, rotting us from the inside.
This is not a problem for most humans. However, occasionally, there will be stresses in our life that can tax the nervous system like, anxiety, a car accident, loss of sleep, a night of drinking, etc.
When this occurs, our nervous system becomes stressed and doesn’t function as well as it should. This takes away from many different functions, digestion is one of them.
When health is restored to the nervous system, digestion improves as a natural by-product.
So, in conclusion, is it all about what you eat?
Does what you eat play a huge role in your health?
But before you even begin to look at what you’re putting in your body, swim a little farther up-stream. Look at the system that
assimilates, coordinates and controls all functions in your body, the nervous system.
Make sure that’s right first.
